Dancing Queens

The DJ called in sick, so it's up to the dancers to do a little role-reversal and make their OWN music.

Dancing Queens is a game about making music while solving puzzles, inspired by the eight queens puzzle and, of course, dancing.

How To Play

Place dancers on the dance floor to light up tiles in all the directions that a queen can move in the rather obscure game of "chess". 

Overlapping paths will combine to create new colors. Other dancers and instruments will block the paths.

Some squares have colored borders. Light up these squares with matching colors to unlock the next level.

Each Instrument will play different music depending on the color the dancers are creating on its tile.

This game was made for the 2023 GMTK Game Jam. Music was made with beepbox.co and sprites were made with Pixaki. Some assembly was required in Unity.

The font used is Press Start 2P
